Last night my wife and I had a date night. Since our first child arrived nearly 6 years ago, we haven't had many date nights. Looking back now, we should have. Even though arranging childcare is complicated and sometimes expensive, we should have. One friend from our church has volunteered to serve us this school year by helping babysit a couple times a month so we can have date nights.
We went to see Rush Hour III. We saw Rush Hour II when my wife was pregnant with our first child. We laughed really hard at RH2 and went to see it again the next day. RH3 wasn't as good as RH2, but it still had its moments, particularly the ones in Paris.
Walking across the room to my spouse and children isn't always as easy as it should seem. In the midst of the busyness of life, they can get neglected sometimes. Righting this is one of my challenges of this next year.
