Help from the land down under

Yesterday (Monday) we got to meet Emily, an Australian university student who will be staying with us from January through mid-February and helping our family, as well as a couple of ministries in Paris. She's currently on holiday in Paris this week with her friend Jill. Our colleagues in Australia helped recruit her for us. We'll look forward to expanding our cultural knowledge and experience.

My wife had an emergency visit to the hospital today, as she was bleeding more heavily. Fortunately, everything seemed to fine during the ultrasound and my wife came back home afterwards.

Then I was involved at some leadership team discussion about the arts ministry. Jim, the founder of it, is back in town this week. It was good to catch up a little and think about some of the bigger issues. It is encouraging that things have gone very well during this transition autumn. Advances are happening. I'm thankful for some quality colleagues who have taken the ball and run with it. 2009 should be an exciting year. In that way, I'm blessed to be part of something that is growing, rather than falling apart or shrinking.
